The Middle East is on fire, its flames threatening the continuity of civilization itself. Around the world people looked aghast at the revolting beheading of American journalist James Foley by the terrorists of Islamic State. It was followed by the public execution of 18 Palestinians, including two women, by Hamas on charges of collaboration. Executed, without trial, in cold blood.

These acts of barbarism are only the latest examples of the monstrous enemy, radical Islam.

In Iraq and Syria, Islamic State is beheading children and crucifying youths in its genocidal war against Christians, Yazidis and whoever else is standing in the way of its caliphate.

In Iran, the gay-hating, women-stoning, free-speech-suppressing mullahs continue to fund murderous attacks against Americans and Jews worldwide, threatening Israel with nuclear annihilation.

And in Gaza, bloodthirsty Hamas terrorists fire rockets at Israelis from homes, schools and mosques while sacrificing Palestinian babies as human shields, and using Palestinian children as slave labor to build terror tunnels in their never-ending genocidal war against the Jews.

Lucky for us that UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon knows who the real enemy is: Israel.

Does Obama even know how to use a can opener?

So, yet another video is released showing yet another American being beheaded by the Islamic terrorists known as ISIS.

And the president’s reaction? Exactly the same thing he said when Maj. Gen. Harold J. Green was murdered in Afghanistan: zip, zilch, nada. Nichevo.

Barack Obama has often been compared to Jimmy Carter. Many believe that the two are in the running for "worst president ever."

But even Jimmy Carter knew how to say, "I'm gonna open up a can of whup-ass!"

Those of us who lived through the Carter administration remember well this particular remark. Of course, Carter said it referring to what he was going to do to his political rivals, not international terrorists.

But Barack Hussein Obama (a man who’s probably never done a lick of actual work in his life, let alone ever been in a fistfight), for all his love of "talking tough" ("I'm really good at killing people"; "Voting is the best revenge"; "We're gonna punish our enemies"; "They bring a knife, we'll bring a gun"; "That's bullsh*t!"), doesn't really even know what a can of whup-ass is, let alone even know how (or when it’s time) to open up the can.

C'etait tres tres emouvant de voir le pere seul s'occuper de l'enfant avant et attendre emu et tendu pendant l'operation que son petit sorte. La mere etait a Gaza.
J'espere seulement que de retour a Gaza, ce pauvre pere avec son enfant ne seront pas inquietes par le Hamas pour s'etre sauves ainsi.

Mr. President: Don't punish; drop bombs

President Obama reacted to another barbaric act with the same kind of confusion that we've come to expect from this rather confused man:

While highlighting ongoing efforts to build an international coalition to take on the group and promising congressional consultation, he offered no indication of his still developing strategy to take on the group.

“The bottom line is this,” he said at the start of a press conference. “Our objective is clear and that is to degrade and destroy [ISIS] so it is no longer a threat not just to Iraq but also the region and to the United States.”

But minutes later, he seemed to recast the goal more locally.

“Our objective is to make sure they aren’t an ongoing threat to the region,” he said. “As we’ve seen with al-Qaeda, there are always going to be remnants that can cause havoc of any of these networks, in part because of the nature of terrorist activities. You get a few individuals, and they may be able to carry out a terrorist act.”

Then, in a third formulation, he said he hoped to “shrink [ISIS's] sphere of influence, its effectiveness, its military capability to the point where it is a manageable problem.”

Maybe it's not in him to say that we are going to "smoke 'em out" or "make my day," but what is so hard about saying that we are going to kill each and every one of them?

Mr. President, they are not bank robbers or people who cheated on the LSATs. They are killers who want to kill the citizens of your country. And they won't hesitate to kill the people who voted for you, too!

Am I the only one who sees a lack of passion?

My God – they just killed two of your citizens in the most barbaric way known to man.

What does it take for President Obama to wake up and smell the risk?

This is a war, Mr. President. It's not the phony "war against women" that your party trumped up in the last election.

No, sir: this is a real war, where people get killed.

Turkish Official: Christianity More of a 'Culture' Than a Religion

Christianity is no longer a religion, former Turkish official Erdogan Bayraktar said at a recent conference sponsored by Turkey’s ruling (AKP) party.

Bayraktar, Turkey’s Environment and Urbanism Minister until December 2013, said at the conference:

The biggest three countries in the world are not Muslim countries. China, India--only the U.S. believes in a single God. Spirituality and religious feelings are weakening. … There are 2.5 billion Christians in the world. Christianity is no longer a religion. It's a culture now. But that is not what a religion is like. A religion teaches; it is a form of life that gives one peace and happiness. That is what they want to turn [Islam] into as well.

Islamic terrorism expert and Jihad Watch best-selling author Robert Spencer weighed in on the Minister’s controversial comments. He said, "In other words, he is telling his audience to be on guard against those who try to water down, or should we say moderate, the teachings of Islam. Those teachings, including, presumably, the teachings of jihad warfare against unbelievers and their subjugation under the rule of Islamic law." Spencer added, "Coming from an official of the ostensibly secular regime in Turkey, this is a noteworthy statement: he is essentially saying that Turkish secularism, which restricts key aspects of Islam, must be opposed.”

Turkey’s Christian population is estimated at 100,000 of the country’s 76-million citizens, according to 2013 surveys.

Support for Islamic radicalism has surged under Turkey’s ruling and Muslim Brotherhood-allied Justice and Development Party (AKP). There has also been a steady increase in anti-Semitic language from top Turkish officials, including President Recep Erdogan.

Thessaloniki mayor sworn in wearing yellow ‘Jude’ star

Yiannis Boutaris’s gesture made as protest of city councilors from neo-Nazi Golden Dawn

The mayor of the Greek city of Thessaloniki was sworn in wearing a yellow Star of David, according to a report in Ekathimerini daily newspaper.

According to the paper, Yiannis Boutaris started his second term last Thursday in the middle of protests by left-wingers against the inclusion of recently elected city councilors representing the far-right Golden Dawn party. The Jewish community, scholars and the media consider the party neo-Nazi.

Protesters on both sides of the political divide yelled at each other across the municipal council room, according to reports.

Boutaris’s move was seen as a gesture of solidarity with Thessaloniki’s Jewish community, which was devastated in the Holocaust, and now numbers about 1,000 members.

Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece congratulated Boutaris in a letter, praising his “highly symbolic initiative to swear in as mayor of Thessaloniki wearing the Star of David with the word ‘Jude’ on it, which reminds of the most dark and sad page in the contemporary history of your city, of our country and of the entire Europe[an continent] as well.”

“Yet, beyond remembrance, your gesture sends a strong and clear message to those nostalgic for Nazism and fascism that under your leadership your city will continue to fight against any phenomena of racism, intolerance and anti-Semitism.”

A Disgusting Practice: Female Genital Mutilation

The Republicans are supposedly waging a "war on women” because they support the right of Christian organizations not to include contraceptives or abortifacients in their employee health insurance. Democrats are now in high dudgeon, and they want new legislation to protect the “rights of women” supposedly taken away by the Supreme Court in the Hobby Lobby case.

But there is truly a war on women going on that these same radical Democrats and defenders of “women’s rights” say nothing about. We do not read even muted comments about this other war

Saying that “Islam is the religion of Peace” or condemning the IS as being “un-Islamic” without condemning the principle that Muslims must fight non-Muslims to subjugate them to Islam is not just hypocritical but also counterproductive as it hides the true cause of the problem and impedes the efforts to solve it.



Until the leading Islamic scholars provide a peaceful theology that clearly contradicts the violent views of the IS, the existence of a “moderate Islam” must be questioned.



The guiding principle of the Islamic State (IS) is that Muslims must fight non-Muslims all over the world and offer them the following choices: Convert to Islam, pay a humiliating tax called “Jijya,” or be killed. This violent doctrine was the primary justification for the Islamic conquests by the early Muslims.

Following the latest in a long string of inhumane and barbaric attacks by the IS, who only offer these three options to non-Muslims, it becomes mandatory to ask whether this principle IS uses is Islamic or Un-Islamic.

In other words, can a young Muslim become more religious—and more obedient to Allah—without subscribing to this ancient brutality? Will he be able to find an approved Islamic theological source or interpretation that clearly contradicts this principle, or at least teaches it in a different way (i.e., contextualizing it in time and place)?

The sad answer is: No, he cannot.

Traditionally there are five sources for Islamic Law: the Koran, the Hadith of Prophet Mohamed (such as Sahih Al-Buchakry), the actions of the disciples of Mohamed (Sahaba), the four schools of Islamic jurisprudence, and the Tafseer (or Interpretations) of the Koran.

If a young Muslim were to do some research to examine whether what the IS is doing is in fact Islamic or Un-Islamic, he would find some shocking results.

The literal understanding of the Koran 9:29 can easily be used to justify what the IS is doing. “Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humiliated."

But perhaps this young Muslim will decide to see if the Hadith of Al-Buchakry may explain it differently. The following Sahih (authentic) Hadith in Al-Buchakry also supports the violent IS ideology: Sahih al-Bukhari 6924—Muhammad said: “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘La ilaha illallah’ (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and whoever said ‘No God other than Allah’ will save his property and his life from me."

Feeling uncomfortable with the literal interpretations of such texts, the young Sunni Muslim might try to find an answer in the actions of the Sahaba. Sadly, the Sahaba (Disciples of Mohamed) were the ones who first used these principles to justify the Islamic conquests and the subjugation of non-Muslims to Islam.

The fourth source for Islamic law is the four schools of Islamic Jurisprudence, namely: Al-Shafeii, Al-Hanbali, Al-Hanafi, and Al- Maleki. These four schools, without a single exception, support the principle that Muslims must fight non-Muslims and offer them the following choices: Convert to Islam, pay a humiliating tax called “Jijya,” or be killed.

The fifth, and last hope for a young Muslim to hold a less horrific view of Koran 9:29 is to find a Tafseer (an interpretation or commentary) that interprets it differently.
A basic search of almost ALL approved interpretations for the Koran supports the same violent conclusion. The 25 leading approved Koran Interpretations (commentaries)—that are usually used by Muslims to understand the Koran --unambiguously support the violent understanding of the verse.

So where might a young moderate Muslim find a non-violent understanding for such a verse?

Saying that “Islam is the religion of Peace” or condemning the IS as being “un-Islamic” without condemning the principle that Muslims must fight non-Muslims to subjugate them to Islam is not just hypocritical but also counterproductive as it hides the true cause of the problem and impedes the efforts to solve it.

Similarly, not calling the IS the Islamic State (to avoid using the word Islamic)—as suggested by some Islamic scholars—is not going to change the painful fact that the ISIS is using an approved and unchallenged principle of the Islamic theology. Such scholars need to work on providing peaceful alternatives to the current violent theology instead of asking the world not to call the IS the Islamic State.

In brief, there are certainly many moderate “Muslims.” Until the leading Islamic scholars provide a peaceful theology that clearly contradicts the violent views of the IS, however, the existence of a “moderate Islam” must be questioned.
